It is with great pleasure that we inform you that the C20 2017 consultation process for the priorities and working groups is now open! The objective of this online survey is to identify a limited number of thematic priorities for the C20 2017 in Germany that are of highest priority for international civil society while at the same time relevant to the official G20 agenda.
Please note that the consultation will be open till December 14th 2016.
Participation is easy!
The International Steering Committee (SC) has developed a catalogue of 8 thematic areas that are important to the international civil society engaging on G20 issues while at the same time will be relevant during the German G20 presidency in 2017. Along with the online consultation form you will find brief explanatory texts highlighting the relevance of each proposed thematic area with regard to the G20 presidency. This online survey offers civil society around the world to shape the C20 policy recommendations included in the C20 Communique and thus to shape civil society recommendations for the G20 2017 in Germany.
Help us spread the word!
As the C20 is responsible for representing the voices and perspectives of civil society from around the world we encourage a broad participation and engagement from as many countries as possible.
Based on the outcomes of the consultation process the SC will announce 5-6 C20 working groups in which we will debate and develop demands and recommendations of civil society towards the G20. After the online consultation, working groups will get started after the holiday season in January 2017. Most of the discussions will take place online, with physical meetings planned for early 2017. Each working group will be led by an international chair and a German co-chair, both facilitating the group’s progress. We will communicate information on how to become active in the C20 working process in due time.
The final policy recommendations from the C20 working groups will be summarized in a C20 communique that will be presented to the G20 sherpas on the occasion of their March 2017 meeting. They will also be officially presented to the 2017 G20 president, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, during the C20 Summit held on June 18-19 in Hamburg.
Participation is easy. Filling in the online survey is done in just 5 minutes!
